CSW66 Parallel Event ‘Impacts of Climate Change on the life and rights of women in Cities in the face of Covid-19’

Through this event, the Women and Habitat Network LAC seeks to demonstrate how the impacts of climate change affect women’s livelihoods and rights to the city, and disasters are experienced more closely and strongly every day. This session will highlight the importance of working on sustainable ecosystem processes in cities – such as food systems in urban areas, transformation of city transport systems by promoting the use of cycle ways, rainwater harvesting efforts, strengthening women’s political and citizen participation with local and national authorities – among other initiatives led by grassroots women. Through this panel discussion, grassroots women leaders will demonstrate how women are conducting efforts/processes to connect to urban and local authorities globally.

Language interpretation will be available in Spanish and English.
