CSW66 Event on “SDG 5 in Review: Role of Local and Regional Govts”

This session, entitled ‘SDG5 in review: the role of local and regional governments’ will form one of four different sessions and will bring together local and regional government elected and appointed officials, partners and civil society representatives, to further reflect on the role of local and regional governments in achieving SDG5, taking stock of the where we stand in 2022, and how we can collaboratively work towards this common agenda for 2030 and beyond.

The session will be organised as an interactive dialogue. Interventions will be max 3 minutes each to allow for interactive discussions around the following topics:

  1. How can we ensure our policies take an intersectional and gender inclusive approach when localizing SDG5?
  2. What does the care agenda add to our understandings of SDG5
    and achieving Agenda 2030?

Violet Shivutse, grassroots leader from Shibuye Community Health Workers, Kenya and Chairperson of Huairou’s Governing Council will be speaking at this event.
