CSW66 Event on “Empowering women and girls for caring and resilient cities and territories”

This session, entitled ‘Empowering women and girls for caring & resilient cities and territories’ held within the context of the NGO CSW Forum will form one of four different sessions and will bring together LRG elected and appointed officials, partners and civil society representatives, to further reflect on the role of local and regional governments in fostering care provision and resilience, taking stock of the where we stand in 2022, and how we can collaboratively work towards this common agenda for 2030 and beyond.

The session will be organised as an interactive dialogue. Interventions will be max 3 minutes each to allow for interactive discussions around the following topics:

  1. How can the participation of a diversity of voices and genders benefit the resilience of cities and territories?
  2. What would it imply to put care at the centre of our policy development?
  3. What is the relationship between care, climate action and fostering resilience? What is the role of stakeholders in these objectives?

Sandy Schilen, Executive Director of the Huairou Commission will be speaking at this event.
