Action Coalition thematic session on Economic Justice & Rights

Violet Shivutse, Shibuye Community Health Workers, Kenya will speak on behalf of civil society on a high level panel that includes the president of Cameroon, the Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister, the Spanish Secretary of State for Development, as well as South African and German government representatives, the OECD and Gates Foundation at the #ActionCoalition on Economic Justice and Rights event on March 30, 2021 at 10-12pm EST/New York time.

The Economic Rights and Justice Action Coalition will propose a targeted set of concrete, ambitious and immediate actions within the period of 2020-2025 to deliver tangible impact on gender equality and girls’ and women’s human rights. The session will serve as a space where members will present goals, tactics and commitments to go towards a 5 year blueprint to achieve gender equality.

The Generation Equality Forum is a multi-stakeholder global gathering that celebrates the power of women’s rights activism, feminist solidarity and youth leadership to and accelerate the implementation of ambitious global commitments for gender equality in the UN Decade of Action as the world builds back better from COVID-19. Over twenty-five years after the historic Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, this landmark effort will bring together actors from diverse sectors –  including Governments, civil society, youth actors, private sector, and international organizations – on equal standing to define and announce ambitious investments and policies that will accelerate progress towards gender equality.
