DESCRIPTION:\n \nThe United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) will convene the resumed second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly from 29 to 30 May 2025 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi. UN-Habitat will resume its Second Session to consider the Strategic Plan for UN-Habitat for 2026-2029. The Second Session is taking place under the theme, ‘A Sustainable Urban Future Through Inclusive and Effective Multilateralism: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Times of Global Crises’.\nAs the highest global decision-making body on sustainable urbanization and human settlements, the Assembly brings together all 193 United Nations Member States and key stakeholders every four years. The second session of the Assembly was held in June 2023, with Member States agreeing to resume it in 2025 to better align UN-Habitat’s planning cycle with the UN development system’s policy review.\nMore Information: https://unhabitat.org/governance/un-habitat-assembly\n
